New Christian Music Finds! Oooo! Whee!

I'm currently working on a personal project then gearing to create my 20-year paradigm in order to, well, order my life.

While I was looking for an old song that had touched my heart back in my dark days, Jars of Clay's Much Afraid, I bumped into this amazing complement to iMeem: jango.com

Jars of Clay - Much Afraid

Jars of Clay - Even Angels Cry

Matthew West - All The Broken Pieces

Jaci Velasquez - Speak for Me

Superchic[k ]- Hold

Casting Crowns - While You Were Sleeping

MAN. I love the Innernets. If you loved this new site, please say a prayer for me, if you want to thank me in kind.

Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you what to pray for, and I'll be grateful you prayed for me. :)

Inform me via comment or private message that you prayed for me, and I'll say a Spirit-led prayer for you too.

I sure pray you had a great Christmas, and I pray that 2009 would be doubly fruitful for you and your fam, that, 2008's fruits would just be a shadow of what 2009's harvest brings!*

*Paraphrased from my good friend Pau

Slow Fade by Casting Crowns

"Slow Fade"

Be careful little eyes what you see
It's the second glance that ties your hands as darkness pulls the strings
Be careful little feet where you go
For it's the little feet behind you that are sure to follow

It's a slow fade when you give yourself away
It's a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day
It's a slow fade, it's a slow fade

Be careful little ears what you hear
When flattery leads to compromise, the end is always near
Be careful little lips what you say
For empty words and promises lead broken hearts astray

It's a slow fade when you give yourself away
It's a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day

The journey from your mind to your hands
Is shorter than you're thinking
Be careful if you think you stand
You just might be sinking

It's a slow fade when you give yourself away
It's a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day
Daddies never crumble in a day
Families never crumble in a day

Oh be careful little eyes what see
Oh be careful little eyes what you see
For the Father up above is looking down in love
Oh be careful little eyes what you see

Saw this from Gigi's Friendster, and I thought to repost... I believe that we are in a season when fathers return to their families and husbands and wives understand what is more important. If there's anything that ripped the fabric of America's society apart, it's the permissiveness with which they had allowed godless thinking to pervade their shores.

On one hand, it seems like they have it all bad, on the other hand, here in our shores we also battle a different enemy: religiosity. We tend to embrace dogma over the heart of what Jesus preaches... I'm guilty of legalism myself, and it's a daily battle and submission to the Lord of my heart.

I choose sanity. I choose to be faithful to Him, and to the one I had given my human heart to. I choose to submit my relationships to Him and to ask Him to fool-proof these and to keep these in the palm of His hands. I choose to trust: to see things as He sees them, and to keep believing that I see Him because my heart had been purified, and He finds me blameless.

I choose to listen to the voice of my Shepherd, and not the voice of the crowd (Matthew 9:25), I choose to not allow myself to be condemned, because my Father in heaven has said: "Has anyone condemned you? Go and sin no more."

I may stumble, I may fall, but I will not be moved, because the Man/God who is more than a Good Samaritan keeps picking me up. I am thankful for His grace in my life. I am thankful that He keeps His promises. I am thankful that He is called Faithful and True. :)

He is the Love of my life, my GOD, my Savior, my Jesus Christ.

Welcome to My New (Christian Songs) Blog!

If you know me well, you'd know that I have an "addiction" to setting up blogs and deploying them. In fact, I have a tendency to just set up blogs and then forget about them.

I aim to change that, starting today. Today, I've resolved to finally get to my personal backlogs. I aim to update all my blogs, at least once a week.

This blog is all about the songs I've come across, in my Christian walk, those songs that have really touched my heart.

I aimed to create this blog so that I can share my song "wants" list with the Worship Team at church.

I find that posting them all on a blog makes things easier for me to share, because I can just put up the songs then forget about it, then when I want to share these songs again, I could just give people the link and let them see the songs, on their own time. :)

All the songs are below this post, because I created this as a permanent post. :) All other posts will have to be dated before today. :)

So, feel free to browse the songs I list, and hope to share YOUR song picks too!

Just comment on here, leave your email address, and I'll be looking forward to swapping "Divine Ear Candy" picks with you!

-xoxo-

Lorie

Before I post the songs I likey...

Let me just share with you where I first encountered the most amazing, the biggest breakthroughs in Christian songs, that may have sparked breakthroughs in my own walk with the Lord:

Years ago, I had been crying and praying for Christian music that sounds as dance-able or as slickly arranged as good ol' rock and pop music.

I used to listen to artists like Sarah McLachlan, Frou Frou, Mono, Massive Attack, Tori Amos, Duncan Sheik, Paula Cole, Anggun.. Among others.

Today, it's only Paula Cole and Anggun whom I have left in my playlists. I tend not to listen to the others because of personal reasons. Let's just say that I don't "feel" life through their songs anymore. I just wanna beat my head against the wall when I listen to sad songs.

When I started listening to Elijahstreams.com, even back when it was still called The Well Network on Live365.com, I knew that I may have found the answer to my prayer back in the 90's.

But even as The Well, there were times when I didn't like their playlist, so I'd listen to other Christian stations. I also liked listening to PropheticWorshipRadio.net by Keith and Sanna Luker.

When The Well redefined itself as Elijahstreams and put out Prophetic Words played along with the worship...

I knew I found the fit for me, for life.

So here's to praying that even in the mission fields, I'll find oases of Internet Connection, so I can plug into Elijahstreams.com once in a while, heheh. :)
