This is probably my all-time favorite song from Hillsong.
In all the craziness of life, the things we are so busy with, the things that we need to get to, there is no other Person, no other thing that could comfort our deepest hurts, stem our deepest fears, or heal our deepest wounds other than our Lord and King. :)
Psalm 46:10:
"Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth."
This psalm had been my constant comfort, and the verse that God always directs me to, in times of the deepest turmoil in my heart.
I could not understand the "being still" concept for the longest time, because we were taught to be "pro-active": to do something to stop the troubles as they come. Good in our terms, but not good in God's terms, because He'd rather be the One to move, than we solve our problems on our own.
Until today, I never really examined the last part of that verse. And it touches my heart to know that His promise to us is that HE WILL BE GLORIFIED. HE WILL REIGN.
So, enjoy this song with me, and if you want its lyrics, just go ahead and click "READ MORE." :D|
Still
Hide me now
Under your wings
Cover me
within your mighty hand
When the oceans rise and thunders roar
I will soar with you above the storm
Father you are king over the flood
I will be still and know you are God
Find rest my soul
In Christ alone
Know His power
In quietness and trust
Hide me now
Under your wings
Cover me
within your mighty hand
When the oceans rise and thunders roar
I will soar with you above the storm
Father you are king over the flood
I will be still and know you are God
Find rest my soul
In Christ alone
Know His power
In quietness and trust
